It seems not all of The Sims’ 25th-anniversary news is related to in-game updates and new content. Although, obviously, we love all of that stuff. Still, it’s great to see something physical coming to commemorate the occasion with The Sims 25th Anniversary Vinyl, allowing you to enjoy the soundtracks you love in a vintage format.
The collaboration comes from EA Music and Enjoy The Ride, a company dedicated to bringing more unusual soundtracks to records. They’ve previously released Goosebumps and Hey Arnold vinyl, for example. Pre-orders for The Sims vinyl open tomorrow, February 7th, and I expect they will sell out quickly.

You see, these vinyls are going to be limited. There are more or fewer copies up for grabs depending on which pressing you’re after. The number available ranges from 250 to 3000, depending on the retailer and whether it’s an international or North American release. You can check out the images in this article to see who’s selling which.
There are several designs for The Sims vinyl soundtrack
Personally, I’ve always preferred vinyl when it’s one solid colour rather than having random patterns across it. As such, the JPC and HHV exclusives appeal to me the most. Although given they’re limited to 300, I’m not holding onto any hope that I’ll have any luck grabbing one. The variant with the four Plumbob is probably my favourite look where they’ve opted for a pattern.

As for what’s going to play when you drop the needle, The Sims vinyl will include tracks from across all four of the mainline entries. It’s a lovely idea, meaning you can kick back and be transported from your childhood to now, depending on your age, of course. The sleeve design is also excellent, sporting a green and pale yellow hand-drawn look that unashamedly leans into the nostalgia angle.
If you’re not a vinyl collector, fear not. There is plenty to enjoy throughout The Sims’ 25th anniversary, including the upcoming Motherlode season.

For Stephen, the best way to escape the stresses and strains of real life is by helping his Sims battle through them. Do as I say, not as I do, my little friends.
