Can you believe that it’s been 25 years since we first got to try out The Sims? I certainly can’t. Well, to celebrate the anniversary The Firemonkeys — the team behind The Sims FreePlay — have planned seven in-game events to celebrate the year of The Sims’ debut, the year 2000, and we’ve got a full calendar of the FreePlay 2000 events below.
Event | Start Time | End Time | Event Duration |
New SimChase Season 83 ‘The One with the Coffee Shop’ | 20 Jan 2025 13:30 | Feb 1 2025 23:00 | 9 Days |

Pregnancy Pack 7 | 18 Feb 2025 23:00 | 8 Mar 2025 23:00 | 9 Days |
New SimChase Season 84 ‘Family Funtime’ | 24 Feb 2025 23:00 | 8 Mar 2025 23:00 | 9 Days |
SimChase Season 83, ‘The One with the Coffee Shop’ and the new live event, ‘My First Apartment’ both include heavy references to turn-of-the-millennium phenomenon Friends, with the SimChase putting you in a battle between cafes (Central Perk, anybody?) as they battle for customers. Meanwhile My First Apartment‘s ultimate reward is an apartment complex that will look incredibly familiar to fans of the series.
Not only that, but there’s also 25-days of free gifts to claim for daily check-ins throughout FreePlay 2000, and a tonne of new content included with each of the events, including a foosball table AND a see-through phone in ‘Reality Island’.
On that note, ‘Reality Island’ takes the Survivor-esque ‘Popularity Contest with Challenges’ formula of Influence Island and sends it spiralling back to the advent of Reality TV, complete with some fantastic ‘of the era’ prizes including a neon computer and tracksuits.
Do bear in mind that these are all timed content, so the only way to make sure that you get to grab these goodies is to get out there are start playing as soon as they go live.
