The Sims 4 has been teasing the upcoming Businesses & Hobbies expansion throughout February 2024. Launching on March 6, 2025, this expansion promises new content to enhance your Sims’ lives. Expect new skills, activities, career opportunities, and possibly intriguing new characters.
As part of the leadup, The Sims will release the official gameplay trailer on YouTube on February 18, 2025. Before that, The Sims’ Twitter shared teaser images and clips from the trailer to excite fans.
One clip has caught the attention of many fans. It shows a mysterious figure sneaking around in the dark, rummaging through a trash can. The figure’s face and features remain hidden under a large trench coat and hat.

All Possible Theories & Hints About The Sims 4’s Mysterious New Character
First, it’s important to note that this isn’t actually the first time we’ve seen a subtle hint about this individual. In fact, the Motherlode roadmap graphic features plenty of little graphics and illustrations in the background. This includes crime posters featuring the silhouette of a face that looks to be a match to this figure.
Many people now believe that crime might play a role in the Businesses & Hobbies expansion. With this in mind, fans have given the mysterious new character a lot of attention. Eagerly sharing their thoughts, several individuals have pointed out some notable details from the teaser clip
As the mysterious figure turns around, you can spot what seems to be a small raccoon tail sticking out of the coat. This raises the question: is this even an individual? I’m now fully on board with the idea that this ‘figure’ is actually a stack of raccoons in a coat. Just imagine how adorable and hilarious it would be watching them appear in-game and rustle through your trash for a snack.
Some fans enjoy the idea of this character being a new burglar in The Sims 4. Others have suggested it might just be a shady, yet harmless, raccoon NPC that knocks over trash cans to cause a mess. Either way, this mysterious character (or group of fuzzy friends, if you prefer) will surely be a fun new addition for players to look out for.
