The Sims 4 Businesses & Hobbies Expansion is Now Live!

As we drift into the weekend some of you may be feeling listless, worried you’ll be bored as the forecast calls for rain- Wait a second! No you won’t be, because The Sims 4 Business & Hobbies Expansion is now live!

Yes, now your Sim can live their entrepreneurship dreams, whether that be opening a tattoo parlour, a pottery shop, or both – as The Sims 4 team showcased in their most recent livestream – but there’s a whole lot more on the cards; so let’s dig in!

Business is War

Of course the headlining attraction here is, what else? Businesses! You can pick and choose the name and logo of your own dream enterprise and build it either on a residential lot or on the new Small Business Venue Lot. Hire up to three employees or press your relatives into service to run a family business; decide how to charge customers and gain Business Perks that change based on how you run your business.

You can even combine your home and business so you’re never more than a few feet from work! Well, if you do a job you love…

The Customer is(n’t) always Right

Running your own business comes with the ability to create Customer Rules, with over 76 possible activities and thousands of different combinations! Whether you want to focus on just a few key elements or cover all your bases, you’re covered.

Oh, and those 76 activities? That’s just with the base game and the expansion pack. There’s even more if you have additional expansions, so watch out for them!

Passing on your Knowledge

Mentoring is now a major part of the attraction in Businesses & Hobbies. You’ll be able to attend lectures to expand your Sims’ skillsets, or hold classes to pass on your knowledge (and maybe earn some more simoleons while you’re at it). Meanwhile, Hobby Meetups let your Sim hang out with likeminded people, gain extra skills and maybe even find a Mentor to help them level up even faster!

Going North

But perhaps the biggest addition aside from these is that of Nordhaven, a brand-new Scandinavian-inspired town with bags of history and character to go with it. Whether you settle down in the neighbourhoods of Gammelvik or Iverstad, you’ll have the calm and serene Nordic town to explore and build your dream home in. Be it ultra-modern or cosy and traditional; the choice is yours!

Be sure to check out the full patch notes for the Businesses & Hobbies Expansion Pack, and be mindful that early-bird buyers who nab it before April 18th can also get several inspiring pieces to liven up their home or business with!
