Pregnant Children Are No More Thanks to Sims 4 Quick Fix

Anyone who has spent enough time playing The Sims 4 is more than aware that much like any modern video game title, gameplay bugs and errors can pop up from time to time. One of the more notable gameplay bugs to take place this year has been an odd mix-up with the body mechanics for children and adults, resulting in what appears to be pregnant bellies on children.

The bug seemed to appear after a significant update preparing for the launch of Businesses & Hobbies, adding features such as the Burglar, tattoo customization, and more. Rightfully concerned players were quick to share images of their child sims on EA forums and social media platforms such as X (formerly Twitter), and Reddit.

This is a bit of a wacky (and inappropriate) error to have emerged. Nobody wants to boot up their game to the shock of a kid walking around in the late stages of pregnancy, so thankfully the team over at EA was prompt to jump on this bug with a quick fix update, released on March 7, 2025. Details for this quick fix have been noted below:

Sims 4 March 7 Quick Fixes

Base Game / Multipack

  • Child Sims who were experiencing body deformation have returned to normal proportions.
  • Console players can scroll though Tattoos and open Filter Panels with controllers.
  • Unit Outlines no longer appear in Build Mode for players who do not own The Sims 4 Businesses and Hobbies Expansion Pack. Players who own the For Rent Expansion Pack will still be able to use its appropriate functionality on Residential Rental lots.

Cats & Dogs

  • Small Dog Breeds no longer appear distorted in Create a Sim.
