Well, the long wait is finally over for fans of the MySims duology, because the MySims Cozy Bundle is out now on Steam! Alright, so it’s not too much of a stunning surprise – this has been out on EA for a while – but now a whole new audience will get the chance to relive the nostalgia, or experience these top releases for the first time in this latest bundle.
What is MySims?
Now for all three of you out there who’ve not heard of MySims, what exactly is it? Well, made specifically for the Nintendo Wii back in ye’ olden times of the late 2000s, The Sims 3 was the main entry in the series and the Wii promised to give kids everywhere tennis elbow playing Wii Sports Resort (speaking from experience).
So, EA and Maxis decided what better way to bring The Sims to a whole new generation than with a brand-new, kid-friendly, more arcade-y version of the original? Gone is the softcore melodrama in favour of something a bit more reminiscent of Animal Crossing.
For hardcore fans MySims may be remembered as a bizarre period in the franchise’s history. After all this series received five new spin-offs in a three year period, starting with MySims Kingdom (also in the bundle) which took the action to a medieval fantasy world, and going through both Kart racing to er- an Ace Combat clone with MySims Sky Heroes (which had a Dead Space collab…?); all on a variety of platforms from DS to Xbox.
But this bundle ain’t about all the spinoffs, this is pure nostalgia – and pretty decent games in their own right – with MySims and MySims Kingdom both included. So if you’re looking to either head back to the past, or try something unexpected, give them a go right now on Steam or EA!
