Over on the official The Sims YouTube channel they’ve just released a new video all about the wonderful Season of The Sims (my name, not theirs) that we’re about to enter as part of the 25th Anniversary Celebrations for The Sims franchise.
It’s been a while since we’ve seen a Behind The Sims YT video — in fact the last time was a year ago and spent a long time discussing Project Rene — but, this time is a little different, with host Mersea joined by The Sims Community Manager, Shawnee, to discuss and tease a whole lot of content that’s set to run for the next (at least) six weeks.
The 7 minute-long video manages to squeeze an incredibly amount in, detailing (or at least outlining) five major events that are upcoming:
- 16th January: Three new ‘Iconic Kits’ being released for The Sims 4
- 27th-31st January: A four-day period called Nostalgia Now
- 4th February: A 25-hour (wow) livestream, Sims 4 Blast From The Past Event, Sims 4 Content Drop and Sims Freeplay Update
- 6th February: Something called Motherlode Season (persons business related?)
- And, an as of yet undetailed event on the 25th of February
The Sims 4 update on the 4th of February is set to contain over 75 items including a bunch of content themed around Y2K. There’s everything from clothing to new hairstyles for the Sims themselves, while you’ll also be able to decorate with new flooring, windows and more. Meanwhile the Blast from the Past event will include a bunch of cool, limited, themed items for those who switch to Live Mode.

Sims Freeplay players will be able to enjoy 25 days of in-game gifts throughout February before March brings a new, enhanced lighting feature to it.
The team also announced that the The MySims: Cozy Bundle will be coming to PC on March 18. Notably, the Nintendo Switch version had included locations and customisation options that had previously been PC exclusive — it was confirmed, if there was any doubt, that that will be in the PC launch.
Some details were also given on the three The Sims 4 kits that launch on January 16th: The Secret Sanctuary, Casanova Cave and Comfy Gamer (a collab with lilsimsie). These range from a cool desk set-up through to a bookcase that doubles as a secret door.
We’ll make sure to keep you updated on more information on these events as details come up, so make sure to keep checking back.
