What's Next?
Category: Site News
As many of you have been wondering (and emailing me) about what's going on with TSN, I have an answer for you. I have since, honestly, lost interest in The Sims, mostly because there's such a big gap in the next generation of the game. I have considered selling the site, or just plain getting rid of it, but neither sounded reasonable to me. But for those who are still unclear of what's going on,
TheSimsNews.com is not for sale.
So since getting rid of the site isn't an option, I've come up with an idea. Many of you have also been asking me personally when Scferg.com is going to be released, and I really don't know myself. But my plan is to keep the content and domain of TheSimsNews.com, and have the site as a subdomain of Scferg.com (as previously mentioned). So, you could access the site by still going to TheSimsNews.com or (ex.) TSN.Scferg.com.
Regarding the core structure of TSN, the content will be pretty much the only aspect that will remain. Since it will no longer be my main site, to avoid hassle and improve the ease of updating content, TSN will be running of a content management system (CMS) or some database-type system. And also since TSN won't be my main focus, having other people to keep the site updated will be key. So... if you would like to apply to be a staff at TSN, email me via the
Contact page. Please keep in mind that since the transition to the new site won't be in the immediate future, you won't get a reply, but I will keep all of the applicant's contact information at hand for future reference.
Staff Facts
* You will need to me my quality expectations for posting and other content.
* You will not have full admin access over the site, but you will be able to create, upload, and moderate content.
* No more than 3 staff members will be necessary.
* When applying: Provide your name, email address, any previous or current projects that pertain to posting content, The Sims, etc., and why you would want to be a staff member of TSN.
So please bare with me as the new sites are under development and prepared.

Preparations for Scferg.com
Category: Site News
As of now, I will not be accepting anymore affiliation applications for this site. If you send in a form requesting affiliation, it will be discarded until further notice.
I also have been building the interface for my new blog site Scferg.com which will be arriving early next year. A prototype screenshot will be posted in the next few days after I make some finishing touches to the core basics of the interface. Scferg.com will operate on the latest version of Wordpress and will allow multiple users to post articles. Even though public users will not be able to create a Wordpress user account on the site (you can however create an account on the forum) a few of my friends will also be publishing content for the site.
So stay updated on the upcoming site by checking here often!

Scferg.com
Category: Site News
Scferg.com is the next generation of my website. I have enjoyed managing and interacting with all of you throughout the years, but I feel the need to have a personal website -- more than just Sims coverage. Many of you have been wondering (and emailing me) what is this all about and now, let me explain. First of all: yes, Scferg.com will be replacing TheSimsNews.com, BUT TSN will not cease to exist. The new website will be a blog of my own featuring day-to-day stuff about me, tech news, and more. Simply, there will be a link on the site that links to TSN. So, basically, this site as you know it will basically be a sub-site of my new personal site. The look will be the same -- the content will be the same. As far as the TSN forum goes, I'll have to figure out a way (if there even is one) to transfer all of your current accounts to the blog forum. I may or may not integrate the two, they must just end up being separate all together.
I will be releasing a prototype of Scferg.com in the next two weeks since I'll be getting some more time on my hands. Check back here occasionally for updates and even test drive the new site's template. Leave your comments here about the idea: good or bad. See you at Scferg.com!
